Sir Augustus Amasa Pire of Cowford - August 4, 2000 - April 29, 2008

Our little dog went to the "Rainbow Bridge" last night. Today has been hard, I have been reminded 100 times that he's gone, everytime I turn on the faucet and expect to hear the pitter-patter of his little feet...everytime I stop to think it's been awhile and he probably needs to go out...
RJ hasn't noticed yet, I'm dreading it when he does...
I was there to watch his birth. He was a sweet guy, but never the same since Max died.
Farewell to my Augie Doggie :( We'll miss him.

How close can he get...

...AND that was close enough, and he ran and hid LOL

Her Big Debut

My daughter loves music, it's a major part of her life. A great deal of her waking hours are spent playing her guitar, singing, and listening to music. She started writing her own songs quite a while ago. She wrote one a few months ago, and she asked me if she should play it for her Youth choir director, and see what he thought of it. Of course I thought she should :) She finally played it and sang for him a couple of weeks ago, and of course he loved it. He asked her if she would be willing to sing it in church service yesterday. The youth had a large part in yesterday's services, after their yearly "D-Now" discipleship weekend. She agreed, and she was marvelous. No, really, I'm not just saying that because I'm her Mom...she was! If I had videotaped it, I'd share it with you. :) As my brother said, she has this Alanis Morrisette vibe, only with Christian lyrics.

I'm proud of her talent, yes, but more than that, I'm happy that she has such a heart for Jesus and a commitment to serve Him. Here are the words to her song:

Here I am send me.
Those five words I said
This way my child of light
Where does my life begin?

Lord show me where
Use me to burn your path
Use me to show the world
That you’re here

I’m so small and weak
Build me with your strength
Before I can help you make change
Rescue me - from me

Lord show me where
Use me to burn your path
Use me to show the world
That you’re here

God you have to lead the way
Only you have might to save
Show the world your glorious light
Use me to fight the good fight

I march into the war
I turn my back on man
Persecution is my joy
Now I make you glad

Lord show me where
Use me to burn your path
Use me to show the world
That you’re here
That you’re here

Butterfly Festival

Tree Hill Nature Center, Jacksonville FL

This one landed on my head and stayed there until I brushed him off, about 15 minutes or so. People kept asking me if I knew he was there. :)

I don't know this lady, but she had a butterfly on her nose. Good reason to take her picture, I thought :)
This one landed right on my left hand (thank goodness, as I need my right to take pictures!) while I was standing there. It also stayed there untilI shooed it away.

Day Out with Papa and Granny ;)

at our favorite park...

Dagnabit

My camera bag fell off the bathroom counter at church yesterday. I picked it up and heard glass rattle - I almost threw up. I took it out of the bag and e-v-e-r so slowly took the lens cap off...it was the UV filter. Thank you Lord! That's the first mishap in the more-than-a-year since I got the camera. I hate it, but it's much better to replace a $30 filter than a $500 lens!! :)

What a Day!

Started at 6am, setting up at the flea market to get rid of some furniture and other odds and ends that were my Father-in-law's...we have had it in storage for over 2 years now - it was time. I had my doubts about selling much of anything, but it turned out to be a very successful day!
In between, I had "Mom's Taxi" service running, and shopping for this precious guy's birthday -
We spent time with him and his family to celebrate, then his Mommy kept RJ (and his big Sister) while I went back to flea market duty :)

A very long, busy day, but we can always make time for fun in the midst of it all! :)

Skywatch Friday

Better late than never :) These were all taken the same day, at my sister's birthday party. We sat out on her back deck and relaxed, and the sky was just busy with all kinds of birds. Of course, ALL the cameras came out! It's so much fun to share a hobby with family.
This is what I call a black-headed gull, but I've also seen them referred to as "Laughing Gulls"...
Our state bird, the Mockingbird...
And some Canadian Geese...
And the moon, just because I liked it :) Have a great weekend!
